Adaptogenic Cinnamon, Coconut Latte

I look forward to my morning cup of coffee like a kid looks forward to summer break. It makes me so happy prepping it every morning and even happier sitting down and drinking it, one sip at a time. Over the past few months I've tried various coffee concoctions from just drinking it black, to having it with some almond milk and cinnamon, and I've even begun incorporating different adaptogens into my morning cup. Through all of this, I've finally come up with a recipe that I absolutely love! I don't necessarily have this every morning, because some days I'm craving some matcha and other days I may not have any time at all to even make some coffee, but the days that I do drink it are definitely my favorite.

I used to be the type of person who needed really sweet coffee, so I would sweeten it with stuff like splenda, thinking it was okay, because you know zero calories and all. But then I started reading and educating myself on just how terrible artificial sweeteners are, and cut I it out completely. At first, it was a little hard for me to drink straight black coffee so I would always add a splash of almond milk, but it's been so long now since I've had such sweet coffee that straight black coffee doesn't bother me anymore.

Over the past few months, I've also read about the many benefits that come from using adaptogens. I'm still pretty new to the adaptogen world, but three that I have been using pretty regularly are ashwagandha, maca, & tocos. Companies like Moon Juice & Sun Potion specialize in selling these adaptogens, but if you're looking to buy them in bulk, for a fairly cheaper price, Mountain Rose Herbs is a good place to check out!

Adaptogenic Cinnamon, Coconut Latte

Ingredients

  • Bulletproof Coffee (or any quality coffee)
  • 1 spoonful of coconut butter
  • 1 scoop of Vital Proteins collagen peptides
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. of tocos

Directions

  1. Brew coffee as you usually do.
  2. Pour in coconut butter, collagen peptides, cinnamon, and tocos into cup of hot coffee.
  3. Blend using a hand mixer or a blender. This really helps give your coffee that frothy texture and prevents everything clumping!
  4. Enjoy! :)

I'd love to hear what your favorite coffee concoction is! Leave me a comment below! :)

XO,

Sara
